The Artist's Apron

The Artist's Aprons

Friday night was quite an adventure to one of the northern suburbs.  We were invited to the "Our Minnesota"  art opening at the Maple Grove Art Center in the town by the same name.

It's just far enough north outside of our everyday route that we had some challenges navigating the route.  We arrived 60 minutes after the start of the evening's event which, we found out later, was a good thing because it was packed at 7:00p.m. with about 100 attendees.

We were able to sample the fun Minnesota snacks whose primary ingredient was Spam in homage to Austin, Minnesota born Gail Weber, one of the key organizers of the event.

Just before we departed I walked around all corners of the art center looking for a possible portrait.  I tried out a few images that were okay but not good enough until I came upon the artist's aprons hanging on hooks.  I immediately thought it had possibilities so I captured this image and added a minimal Instagram filter just to soften the edges and give it a framed look.

I like the finished photo and so did the artists involved with the show.
